The honors designation in Middle East and South Asia Studies (MESAS) at Wake Forest University is a recognition of outstanding academic achievement, intellectual initiative, and deep familiarity with the culture and peoples of the region. In order to qualify for honors in Middle East and South Asia Studies, students must achieve have both a 3.6 GPA or higher in courses pursued for the minor and an overall GPA of 3.2 for each of their last two semesters. Students must further undertake focused individual
research in some aspect of Middle East and/or South Asia studies or study abroad in at least one country in the region, as well as provide an oral presentation of their research findings or analysis of their study abroad experience at a MESAS honors colloquium. Interested students should contact one of the program directors for advising and complete the MESA Honors Form.
